Can CBD Help To Diabetic Patients?

Spread the love

Almost 10% of Americans are diabetic. Although a few lifestyle changes and medication can help to stabilize blood sugar levels, many Americans are now considering CBD use as another option.

A few research has also shown that CBD might help in controlling blood sugar, reducing stress and anxiety, boosting cardiovascular health, and all these are also important for people having diabetes.  Few other studies have also indicated that CBD possibly could help to prevent diabetes.

Many people often take gomitas de marihuanas venta from Just CBD Store, which is one of the popular sources of CBD-based products

What the research has shown so far

So far whatever studies were done with CBD are limited to only mice and rats. This is one of the main issues, because of the simulated conditions of the laboratory, differences that exist between humans and animals, and a few other things that can always influence the results of such studies.

Just because CBD may work under those conditions on rats and mice does not guarantee that it will work equally well with humans as well.

In a certain study, researchers have tested CBD on a few mice having less blood flow in their brain, which is a kind of complication of diabetes often found among humans too. They have found that CBD can do the following:

  • Cut down hyperglycemia which is a high blood sugar level.
  • Lowered cholesterol level and also “bad fat”
  • Increased insulin production

In another study done on rats and mice with CBD and it was found that:

  1. Eases pain and swelling from nerve damage

A study has shown that CBD can keep chronic inflammation and also neuropathic pain totally at bay, which may tend to affect the feet and hands of people having diabetes.

  1. Reduces the diabetes risk

One more study has found that CBD might probably ward off diabetes.

  1. Promotes “good fat.”

By consuming CBD oil it can help your body to turn the white fat into quite slimming brown fat. Thus it can boost the ability of your body to use glucose properly.

THC and diabetes

CBD and THC (the psychoactive component of cannabis) effects are quite different. A study was conducted where CBD could not improve lipid levels and blood sugar levels in the patient having type-2 diabetes, however, a variation of THC could work.

Use caution

CBD can be obtained in many different forms, right from liquid drops to edibles to vapes. At present the FDA does not regulate these products. So far Epidex is the approved medicine that has been approved by the FDA for two epilepsy types.

So it is difficult to ensure that other CBD products that are available on the market although may have a very good-looking label but it is difficult to say what they claim is really true or not.

Some of these products may contain an undesired amount of THC. Some of these CBD products may produce the following few side effects:

  • Diarrhea
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue

Also, CBD can interact with a few other medications e.g. blood thinners. Therefore, it is important to discuss with your doctor while trying CBD.
