St. Louis, Please Start Replacing Your Windows

Spread the love

Your windows are your, well, windows into the world. They provide natural light, which is a key component towards your mental health. They also serve as a centerpiece of your houses aesthetics. But, sometimes not replacing windows can actually have a negative effect on your house and its energy consumption. Here are some telltale signs that your windows need replacing.

Your Windows are Warped or Broken

If your windows are warped, cracked, or starting to shatter, it’s time to get a new window. Windows aren’t really a viable thing to go about replacing, and often repairing windows is costlier and more time consuming than just grabbing a new one. Moral of the story? Don’t get sentimental with windows. Eventually, you are going to have to replace them. Finding window installation St. Louis MO is easy. There are a ton of options.

Old Windows, High Bills

If you are still holding onto older windows it’s probably better for you, in the long run, to think about upgrading. Replacing windows with modern, more energy efficient models, is a great way to save some money on that electricity bill. As someone who lives in St. Louis, that’s not a bad deal. Our electricity prices seem to be about the price of gold at any given time.

The Looks

Windows are beautiful. Floor to ceiling windows, sky windows, small circular windows that old ladies tend to have that no-one knows the name of, windows are an important part of your décor and a core part of your houses look and feel. Replacing old windows with newer better-looking windows is a great way to spice up the overall feel of your home. After all, what looks better than beautiful windows? The answer, nothing.

A note on historic homes: Ok, so you bought yourself a home in St. Louis’s historic district. Sweet! If the windows are faded, then take a step back before you go about replacing them. Make sure that you get historically accurate windows instead of new ones. Your house will go up in value and look great. Never, I repeat, never get a new window on one of these cool old houses. They look so great and a modern-style window can ruin the entire appeal. Be smart. After all, those old houses aren’t only a great place to live in, they are a fantastic investment.

Get those windows replaced. Too often, I walk around St. Louis to signs of worn down scraggly excuses for windows. As a city, we often forget to step back and take a look at the bigger picture. Saving on your energy bill and increasing the aesthetics of your atmosphere are both very important to your overall financial and mental wellbeing. So, remember, get new windows. Out with the old in with the new. Next time I take a stroll through St. Louis I’m hoping to see shining new windows filled with sunlight.
